The Global Indigenous Peoples Outreach Programme
"Sharing the Collective Wisdom of Humanity"
OBJECTIVE
The main objective of the Global Indigenous Peoples Outreach Programme is to build a bridge of communication between all indigenous people around the globe.
VISION
Indigenous culture and oral tradition around the world collectively preserves ancient wisdom and, in many aspects, is far advanced on westernised society. Ancient wisdom has been coveted and protected by spiritual leaders in traditional communities over time, and is universally acknowledged and accepted to be of crucial importance and value to mankind today. Ancient tribal knowledge collectively holds much wisdom which has been suppressed and devalued through the process of ‘civilization’ and so-called rationalized thinking over hundreds of years.
Tribal cultures have been separated from each other by language and the continental divide, they have been colonized, detribalized, industrialized, and manipulated. Their ancient medicinal remedies and healing techniques have been stolen and commercialised, their property rights have been violated and their rights to citizenship in their own countries until recent times have often been denied.
All indigenous cultures with ancient roots hold a certain universal knowledge intact, preserved in stories of myth, legend, tribal symbols and age-old ritual practices, these have prevailed in spite of the historical dispensation of world tribal culture.
Indigenous cultures have respected each other and mother earth since the beginning of time. Tribal communities had, in ancient times, the ability to achieve and maintain a spiritual and physical balance with their natural surroundings. As a result, tribal entities in the past practised a sustainable non-destructive family-oriented way of life which was in balance with the sacred laws of the Universe and Mother Earth.
With the advent of "Westernised Civilization" many of these tribal principles and values were either lost, devalued or ignored, the result being that society has collectively lost the ability to exist in balance with Mother Earth. Civilized society continually "consumes" and generates very little back to the planet. Resources are continually plundered and the life-force elements which were once respected by tribal communities are becoming more and more polluted and seen only as a benign kind of "resource".
Even people, have lost their individuality and are considered nothing more than a resource by large "predatory-type" corporations who serve the consumer-based society. People being treated this way have in turn lost respect for themselves and suffer from feelings of worthlessness leading to a whole array of "pathological" and psychological problems. The "soul" of human kind and consequently that of collective world society is suffering.
It is the vision of the Global Indigenous Peoples Outreach Programme, with the assistance, co-operation and guidance of the indigenous peoples of the world, to forge effective communication between the existing tribes of the world. In so doing, to assist the return of modern society to balance through the teaching and communicating of ancient wisdom and beliefs, those which were historically applied by tribal societies in order to maintain a balance with the environment, earth and human spirit.
In so doing, the Global Indigenous Peoples Outreach Programme hopes to assist with the reintroduction of value and respect into society, to promote a connection with Mother Earth and to ignite the reawakening and preservation of true human culture globally.
